Overview

*The Accounts Payable Clerk position will be based in Scottsdale, AZ and is a hybrid role working in the office 3 days per week as defined by the company*

 

Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk. Under the supervision of the Controller, VP of Accounting and Finance, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing invoices received for payment and for preparing payments to vendors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.   This position is part of a team that reports to the Controller, VP of Finance and Accounting.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process invoices and reconcile statements in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure correct approval, sorting, coding and matching invoices and supporting documentation
  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure accounts are current
  • Work with other departments to make sure proper documentation and information is collected for other processes within the company
  • Generate or create periodic reports for various departments
  • Collaborate and train employees in how to utilize current expense report process
  • Other related AP office tasks as required 
  • The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job position. 

Qualifications

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting and clerical experience preferred
  • Understanding of basic accounting knowledge and terminologies
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft 365
  • Prior work experience in accounting software
  • Must be a self-motivated, proactive individual
  • -Impeccable follow-through and commitment to quality customer service
  • Aptitude for working in a fast-paced, high intensity office environment
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Proficiency in English
  • Customer service orientation skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Experience with SAGE Intacct and/or Stampli a plus but not required

Tools and Equipment Requirements 

  • The ability to use a phone, computer, printer, and copier is required.
  • Frequent use of Microsoft office products, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Frequent use of Adobe.
  • The ability to use the internet and various web browser software is required. 

Physical Working Conditions and Office Setting Description 

  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching associated with a normal office environment.
  • Frequent and prolonged typing and operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones required.
  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
