Overview

Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a Director of Grants Management. Under the supervision of the Chief Growth Officer, the Director of Grants Management will lead all aspects of the grants program, including grants strategy, grants applications and grants oversight. This position will work closely with cross functional partners throughout the CMS to advance the grants department. Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recommend grant strategy, including identifying service needs, gaps in programs, and opportunities for capacity building or expansion into new areas or services.
  • Research and track grant opportunities that align with organizational strategies.
  • Lead grant applications process and delivery of strong submissions.
  • Collaborate with program managers who are responsible for implementation, compliance, and communication with funders. Ensure they fully understand their ongoing responsibilities.
  • Maintain and track project and grant activity to ensure audit readiness.
  • Regularly analyze and report on the status of grant activities to the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Assist finance with grant expenditure tracking, collaborate with the finance team to track grant expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgeted projections and financial compliance.
  • Support during audit periods, assist with audit processes, track and maintain documentation of both current and previous grant programs to ensure compliance and readiness during audits.
  • Advise and/or lead the development of project and corporate policies, procedures, templates and supplementary guidance resources related to contracts and grants administration and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, government entities, and community partners.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the grant department to measure effectiveness in grant acquisition, management, and execution. Regularly review and adjust these metrics to improve performance and outcomes.
  • Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations related to grant funding and ensure the organization remains compliant.
  • Supervise direct report(s), including the Grant Technician role, providing guidance, coaching and professional development leadership.

Qualifications

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate's
  • At least 3-5 years of successful experience in federal, state and county-level grant proposal writing and grants management.
  • Motor Vehicle state-issued driver’s license and MVR clearance is required: a 39-month MVR is required for any applicant at the time of the interview.

Tools and Equipment

  • The ability to use a phone, computer, printer, and copier is required.
  • The ability to use the internet and various web browser software and Microsoft office products, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Working Conditions and Office Setting Description

 

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching associated with an office environment.
  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
  • Frequent and prolonged typing and operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones.
